Cartels in Canada: Where Are the Answers?

Canadians deserve to know who is supplying the drugs killing people in their communities—and whether the agencies paid to protect them have the resources to pursue those responsible.

In this excerpt from the Shawn Ryan Show, journalist Katarina Szulc alleges that Mexican cartels have expanded into Canada, working with established gangs to manufacture fentanyl. She describes chemical supply routes through Vancouver and clandestine laboratories in British Columbia and Alberta. She also says police sources have told her enforcement resources are inadequate.

These are serious allegations. An interview does not prove every claim, and her assertion that most fentanyl production has moved to Canada requires independent evidence. But the public deserves a clear account of what authorities have confirmed, what remains uncertain, and what they are doing about it.

How many Canadian drug laboratories have documented cartel connections? Are investigators reaching the organizers and financiers? Where are the proceeds going? If resources are inadequate, what investigations are being left undone?

Taxpayers should be able to judge results: networks dismantled, criminal assets recovered and the people directing these operations brought before the courts.
