25% Tariff On Steel and Aluminum
Onboard Air Force One President Trump announced a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum coming into the US.
He also made the case that Canadians would be better off if Canada became the 51st state. He claims taxes would be half what they are currently. He said Canada is not a viable country if they weren't taking advantage of the US on the trade front and had to defend themselves.
There was a time Canada and the United States enjoyed a special relationship which no longer exists. Perhaps the disdain our Prime Minister has openly expressed for President Trump has done nothing to help relations.
Actions of the Canadian government are no longer reflective of a county that honours citizens rights and freedoms. Illegal use of the emergency act, siezing property and bank accounts, seizing lawfully purchased and owned firearms are but a few examples that have not gone unnoticed by the USA.
The US at one time also had a good relationship with Cuba until they embraced a tyrannical form of government. You could argue Canada is not that far behind.
