The TRUTH About the Delta 4819 Pilots!

Who Was Flying The Plane?

Latest updates on Delta 4819 that crash landed and ended up inverted in Toronto on February 17, 2025, specifically background on the Captain and First Officer of the CRJ in which all 80 people thankfully survived

If you forward the video to 6:27 the pilots and their qualifications are presented.

Some info about the pilots: (not officially confirmed by Delta but the presenter claims 2 sources).
The pilot in command (PIC) was James Henneman and the other pilot was Kendal Swanson. The PIC had earned his ATP (airline transport pilot) in 2013 has been flying this plane since 2007.
The First Officer Kendal Swanson got her ATP (Airlines Transport Pilot) cerificate six weeks ago. Her ATP is a restricted ATP as she does not have the required hours to be a PIC. It used to require 1500 hours to qualify for an ATP but that standard was changed allowing for a restricted ATP with only 1000 hours. It is explained that change to allow a restricted ATP with fewer hours in order to stem the risk of a pilot shortage.
One observation made on this video is the fact it was a man's voice talking to the tower as they approached for landing. It was noted usually the one talking is not the one flying.
As the video creator notes, it is far too early to say what caused the crash as it could have been mechanical failure.
